Membership Information

The South Carolina Association of Residential Care Homes is the largest not-for-profit trade association specifically for the assisted living/residential care industry in South Carolina. We have over 400 members including a wide variety of assisted living/residential care providers as well as vendor member partners and individuals.

SCARCH is dedicated to representing and serving our members and the industry in the state. If you are not a member, we have a category that will fit your needs and we hope you will accept our invitation to join our growing organization. We have more to offer than any other statewide association that represents the assisted living/residential care industry. Some of our valuable member benefits are listed below. What Type of Membership is Right for Me?

SCARCH offers a number of membership categories to best suit the needs of individuals or organizations. Please review the categories to determine which suits you.

Facility Member

Any company or individual that owns, manages or operates an assisted living/residential care facility in South Carolina. This is a dual membership with the Assisted Living Federation of America.

Vendor Member Partner

Organizations and associations involved in healthcare or companies that provide goods and services to the assisted living/residential care industry. Vendor Member Partners are SCARCH members only.

Associate Member

Any company or corporation, proprietary or nonprofit, or an individual that has an interest in or is involved in the assisted living industry but does not own, operate or manage an assisted living/residential care facility. Associate members are SCARCH members only.

Government

Government agencies involved in or having an interest in the assisted living/residential care industry. Also, college or university professors engaged in assisted living industry research or physicians engaged in geriatrics. Government members are SCARCH members only.

We hope you will accept a special invitation on behalf of all SCARCH members to join an enthusiastic and growing group of owners, operators and assisted living/residential care industry supporters. Information and Resources

SCARCH SUPPLEMENTS-Monthly fax broadcast to members to keep up to date on SCARCH news, national news, regulatory updates and legislative updates. Included in membership dues.

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY/RESOURCE GUIDE-SCARCH compiles an annual membership directory/resource guide for the association. This guide includes information on all member facilities, vendor member partners, regulatory agencies and bylaws. It is distributed to all members of the South Carolina General Assembly, state regulatory agencies, SCARCH members and other interested organizations and individuals. Included in membership dues.

GROUP PURCHASING-SCARCH members are encouraged to utilize the products and services provided by the vendor member partners as significant discounts are offered. Products and services range from architects to food to insurance to emergency call systems, etc.

Advocacy and Promotion

LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY REPRESENTATION-SCARCH provides comprehensive legislative and regulatory representation before the South Carolina General Assembly and the state agencies involved in assisted living/residential care. The successful promotion of assisted living/residential care in South Carolina will help increase federal funding and stop unnecessary regulations that create additional costs to member facilities. Legislators are beginning to understand that assisted living/residential care is an excellent alternative to institutional care when the services of a nurse are not required.

Education and Conferences

Conferences AND TRADE SHOW-Held each year in South Carolina featuring well known speakers, numerous educational sessions, networking opportunities and a trade show featuring the best of the best the vendor member partners have to offer the assisted living/residential care industry in South Carolina. ANNUAL HOLIDAY GET TOGETHER AND CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAM-Held in Columbia in December each year features the Annual Business Meeting, three hours of continuing education and a social function. Discounted fees for members

SCARCH CONTINUING EDUCATION SEMINARS-SCARCH offers numerous educational sessions across the state throughout the year. All programs are submitted to the South Carolina Board of Long Term Health Care Administrators for continuing education credit. Discounted fees for members.
